Getting an account is free and painless: simply register here by following the on-screen instructions. You can use this account for your high scores, as well as the forums (should you choose to participate) and other parts of the web site. Once you have registered and activated your account, you are free to upload scores by either of the following methods.
By far the easiest way to submit scores is by clicking the "Web Scores" button in the Galactic Gladiator launcher. You will see a screen similar to the following:
From this screen submission is easy: first enter your account Username and Password (that you signed up for). You can even check off the "Save Password" box so that you don't have to re-enter this information every time you want to submit newer scores. (The password is saved and transmitted using irreversible encryption, so there is no way that anyone could steal it.) Then simply click "Submit" and your scores will automatically be added to the online database.
An alternative but more complicated way of submitting your scores is via your web browser. Go to the Online High Score System web site and click "Upload Scores". You will be shown a screen that allows you to enter your Username and Password as above, but additionally you will need to manually find the high scores file. By default it is "My Documents\My Games\Galactic Gladiator\HighScores.dat".
Note that using this method you will need to re-enter your information, click Browse, and find the high scores file every time you want to upload new scores. This is fairly tedious, but browser security prevents us from providing a default value for which file to upload. Furthermore using this method your password will be transmitted in plain text, which is less secure than using the launcher.
Thus we highly recommend that you use the former method, since it is a lot simpler, more secure, and should work in every single case that the latter one does. Both methods effectively do the same thing: the launcher is just easier and better. Use it!
Once you have submitted your scores you will be given a link that will take you to your online high scores page. This will give you a summary of your top scores for each level, and how they are affecting your ranking points (among other information). Ranking points are used to decide who the best overall pilots are around the world.
Navigating around the Online High Score System web site will allow you to see the player rankings, the high scores of other players, the top players on various levels and much more. A lot of information is available, and we can almost guarantee that there will be at least one impressive score for you to shoot for.
